Ascent Homes is a locally owned home-building company founded by Sam Bond, a proud US Marine Corps veteran. Sam possesses over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, with over 15 of those years being in the state of Florida. He and his wife are residents of St. Augustine, where their three children attend school.
Sam cut his teeth in the construction industry as a child moving lumber and helping build a custom home in the Outer Banks of North Carolina; as well as, helping with his family’s business constructing homes in the greater Atlanta area.
After being honorably discharged as an infantry officer in the Marine Corps, Sam went to work on the manufacturing side of both the engineered wood and concrete sides of the building products industry. During this time, he moved his way up on the operational and sales sides of the companies, eventually running several large manufacturing companies. He has extensive continuous improvement training and has been trained by one of the leading building scientists in the world.
In addition, Sam has trained thousands of builders, architects, code officials and engineers on proper building and framing techniques, energy efficiency and water intrusion prevention; and, he puts that knowledge to use in each of the homes he builds. Sam is currently on the Board of Directors for the Home Builders Association of Flagler. Sam graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA and obtained his MBA from the University of Tennessee.
Sam is a state certified residential contractor with license number CRC1333959
He has also been on the Home Builders Association of Flagler County Board of Directors for 2024 and 2025.
